🤔 Whom Can You Trust?
The Elder Ones work their influences on mortal minds in many ways. No one is really sure who is held under their sway. Is someone trying to stop them or support them? It’s impossible to tell and yet, the stakes couldn’t be higher.
Cthulhu: Dark Providence is a new take on Martin Wallace’s A Study in Emerald, which combines deck building mechanics, secret agendas, and the works of H.P. Lovecraft. As the Great Depression rages, cultists look to work their influence on the United States, twisting it into a nightmare version while Investigators are working to stop them.
Secret Alignment
At the start of the game, players are secretly divided into Cultists, Investigators, and the new Dissidents. Each one wins the game via different conditions and must work their tactics in secret, lest their identity is found out.
Build Your Deck
Deckbuilding is the major mechanic in the game. Players must try and collect cards that help their cause while keeping good cards out of their opponent’s hands.
Keep Sane, or Not
The horrors beyond the veil will test one’s mind. Investigators must try and keep their sanity, while Cultists don’t mind going a little bit crazy.
